Hickory Horned Devil

SIZE: 5 ½ INCHES (137 mm)

COLOR: Many orange and green spines and horns.

DESCRIPTION: The hickory horned devil is a frightful looking large caterpillar. It has many orange and green spines and horns. The spines are not poisonous and are not particularly sharp-it only looks mean. The adult of the caterpillar is the orange and brown royal walnut moth.

TYPE OF DAMAGE: The majority of ferocious looking caterpillars are completely harmless.
