Every year, 100 youth from Scott County go to 4-H camp to enjoy all the traditional outdoor camp activities and learn self-reliance, leadership, and citizenship. While at camp, they also write thank-you letters to a generous donor from their county who helps pay for their camping experience through a $50,000 endowment.
“Our donor, a lifelong educator, was impressed by our program and what it offered to local youth,” says Patty Collier, Extension 4-H agent. “This generous donation allows us to send children to camp who might not have been able to go otherwise.”
