Presentation

The Communication and Expressive Arts Curriculum is an important part of the overall Virginia 4-H Educational Program. Communication Skills are important like skills in the development of any young person.

The curriculum is divided into three major areas, Expressive Arts, Creative Arts, and Communications & Public Speaking. In addition, the communication program of Presentations is also an important part of this program.

The Handbook of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) indicates that a basic competency desired by employees is to have effective communication skills. For this reason and others, teaching communication skills to our young people is extremely important.

Expressive Arts
The main objectives of the program are to help 4-H'ers understand the value of the arts and humanities experiences in the development of self and others, to recognize personal creative abilities and become skilled in sharing those abilities with others.
