This page connects you to some neat web sites specifically for youth that are related to horticulture, agriculture, and natural sciences.

  • Illinois Extension has links to several great interactive children's web sites: The Great Plant Escape, Out on a Limb, Exploring the Secret Life of Trees, and Trees are Terrific. All but the Great Plant Escape are also available in Spanish.

  • 4-H Virtual Farm, created by Virginia Cooperative Extension lets children learn about all different types of farming, from raising wheat to dairy cattle to fish and everything in between. The site includes audio clips, short videos, games, quizzes and more! This is a wonderful interactive site that anyone can learn from!

  • The Michigan Children's Gardens site has information and activities geared towards youth.

  • The Missouri Botanical Garden site has a series of environmental lessons and activities for youth.

  • The Ithaca Children's Garden web site has a Just for Kids section with activities and fun plant information for kids.

  • Plants and Our Environment is a web site that was created by elementary school students.

  • Just Grow It is an agricultural web site that includes information on a variety of crops, animals, and careers. There are some activities.

  • Rodale Institute's web site for kids has all kinds of information on organic farming and environmental issues. There are no interactive games, but the text is written for kids.

  • The USDA for Kids page offers children information on a wide variety of subjects from gardening to nutrition to the history of agriculture.

  • The Treetures web site uses squirrel-like creatures called 'Treetures" to lead children through lessons and activities teaching about the environment and trees.

  • Virginia's 4-H web site for kids has information on what 4-H has to offer, how to join, and links to lots of other web sites for youth.
