IFYE Ambassador
Who: 16-26 year old young people: interested in the ultimate "learning by doing" experience. What: The IFYE Ambassador program provides a variety of program offerings for young people to explore another area: of the world live with host families in other countries, learn another language ant culture, experience youth programs, pursue new project dimensions, and enjoy the sights and sounds of other lands. Depending on numbers of participants and the arrangements made with the host country, some IFYE Ambassadors will participate in an educational tour along with host family stays while others will stay with host families only. When: Most programs are five to six weeks during the summer months beginning in June. Where: Ambassadors may explore Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Why: International 4-H Youth Exchange programs enhance the 4-H program through international, cross-cultural experiences that enable young people to improve their leadership and communication skills, while increasing their international awareness and understanding Program Fee: The program fee is $2000 - $4000, depending on the area of the world and the type of program selected. The fee includes International airline ticket, travel in host country, food, lodging, supplemental insurance orientation and evaluation programs. Financial support and fundraising assistance may: be available through county and state 4-H offices.
