Itinerary
- July 30 - Welcome in the Juan Santamarķa airport. 8 p.m.
- July 1-3 - Host family experience. Special programs.
- July 4-8 - International 4-S Camp. In La Fortuna, San Carlos.
- July 9-11 - Host family experience. Special programs.
- July 12 - Visit to Poas Volcano and high mountains of Costa Rica.
- July 13 - Visit to San Jose, museums, etc. Farewell party at Francisco Perez' house.
- July 14 - Departure from San Carlos at 4:00 a.m. Departure from San Jose at 8:00 a.m.

Goals of the Program
- To increase youth awareness of natural resources in Costa Rica and Virginia.
- To increase awareness that we live in a global economy.
- To compare tropical and temperate forest ecosystems.
- To offer an exciting, low-cost cultural experience for youth of Virginia and Costa Rica.
Who attends
High school aged youth with an interest in forests and the environment, and adult volunteers interested in youth development. Prior 4-H participation is not required, but applicants must have the endorsement of their county Extension Agent, 4-H. Preference is given to county groups that have participated in 4-H natural resource programs.
