  • Through it's six 4-H Educational Centers, Virginia 4-H has one of the largest camping program in the nation.

  • 4-H has a 100-year tradition of voluntary action for the public-private partnerships at Federal, state, county, and community levels. These partnerships reflect broadly both fiscal and human resources.

  • Private sector partners invest almost $100 million annually through their local, state, and national 4-H Youth Development programs.

  • 32,950 youth were members of 2049 organized 4-H clubs
  • 30.5% of Virginia 4-H members are between the ages of 5 and 8
  • 5% of 4-H members live on farms
  • 140,564 youth were involved in 4-H through 1877 school enrichment units
  • 42% are pre-teen ages 9 to 11
  • 43% live in towns and rural areas with populations of less than 10,000
  • 36,716 youth participated in 2162 4-H special interest groups
  • 13.6 % are early teens, age 12 & 13
  • 52% live in suburbs or central cities with populations of over 50,000
  • 4-H summer overnight camping sessions involved 15,739 youth in 244 events.
