Family Sciences

The Family Science 4-H Curriculum includes project material related to clothing and textiles, consumer education and management, family life, and housing.

Clothing and Textiles includes project sheets that relate to personal appearance, clothing construction, purchase and care of a wardrobe. Project material is divided into four levels that reflect the interests of the 9 - 18 year old. Fashion Revue is offered as a competition in this area.

Family Life project material includes baby sitting, working with older adults as friends, and teaching life skills that are needed by youth when left alone.

The housing curriculum offers older youth the opportunity to earn about the process, costs, satisfactions, and frustrations of renting your first home.
