"Spring Pools Institute" (Central)
March 15-18, 2004 (Mon-Thur)
This course will be held here at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center (near Appomattox, Virginia) with classroom sessions and field exploratories to sites throughout Central Virginia (at the Center, on the surrounding State Forest, at James River State Park and private land sites, etc.). We plan to encounter Fairy Shrimp, Wood Frogs; Spotted, Marbled, and Mole Salamanders, etc.

"Spring Pools Institute" (Western)
March 22-25, 2004 (Mon-Thur)
This course will depart from the 4-H Center and use Douthat State Park in Bath County as our base for exploratories around the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia. This course has limited space and registration preference is extended first to participants of past "Central" courses ("first-timers" can be on the waiting list, pending available space).

During this course, we will share the cozy accomodations of the Creasy Lodge, with full-service amenities to prepare our own meals, enjoy an evening video or fire, and refreshing showers after a day afield, etc.

We will explore environs in the Park and the surrounding mountainous region, and we plan to encounter Fairy Shrimp, Wood Frogs; Spotted, Marbled, and Jefferson Salamanders, etc.

Cost: Only $200.00 per person
