Mike Hayslett and David Welker will teach the methods of leather and fur tanning using materials from the woods and home!!

About the Instructors
Mike Hayslett - Mike Hayslett is the Natural Resources Director at Holiday Lake and grew up huntin', fishin', trappiin',and tannin' in the Highland mountains of Virginia.

David Welker - David Welker lives in Richmond, Virginia and teaches primitive skills through his Blue Heron Outdoor School and at Passages Summer Adventure Camp.

  • No prior experience or scientific knowledge is necessary!!
  • All materials will be provided!
  • Hides will be available, but bring your own if you like!!
  • All meals and lodging are included!
  • Limited to 10 participants!
