The top half of the heifers are kept as herd replacements or are sold as bred heifers to other commercial herds. All cows are raised on pasture and hay. Young, growing cattle are fed grain as needed to gain at the proper rate.

These bulls are provided courtesy of Hickory Hill Farm in Blacksburg. They are available for purchase in the fall of 1998.

Bulls are sold to commercial operations that sell feeder calves and keep their own replacements. Heifers are either kept for herd replacements or sold to other Angus breeders and to commercial operations. This Angus herd and the customers' herds operate with pasture and hay with no grain fed to the cows.
