Selection Scenario:
Rank the Angus bulls for use in commercial herds on Hereford-Gelbvieh cross cows and heifers. The major emphasis is production of Angus-cross heifers for the commercial cow-calf industry. All steers are owned through the feedlot and sold as finished cattle. All cows are raised on pasture and hay. Young, growing cattle are fed grain as needed to gain at the proper rate.

Selection Scenario:
Rank the gilts as replacements in a commercial farrow to finish operation. These gilts will be mated to Duroc boars and replacements will be kept. All pigs will be sold on a lean pork value basis. Profit is maximized from the sale of pigs that grow fast and are lean and muscular. They will be raised in total confinement.

Selection Scenario:
Rank the lambs as replacements in a purebred Suffolk flock. They will be bred to lamb as yearlings. Rams will be sold into commercial flocks and occasionally to other Suffolk breeders. Ewe lambs will be kept as replacements and sold to other Suffolk breeders or as commercial replacements. An expanding market exists for sale of lambs to 4H and FFA members for their market lamb projects.
