WHO ORGANIZES NATIONAL & GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY
- Youth Service America is joined by a consortium that includes 115 of the largest national nonprofit and youth development organizations, including 4-H, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA, Camp Fire USA, National Education Association (NEA), Special Olympics, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and many more.
- With support from Youth Service America and the State Farm Companies Foundation, 51 Lead Agencies for National & Global Youth Service Day host local, regional, or statewide celebrations. Each Lead Agency engages hundreds to thousands of youth volunteers (the largest event will involve more than 25,000 volunteers). Lead Agencies convene planning coalitions, engage media and elected officials, and host opening or closing celebrations. Virginia 4-H is a Lead Agency!
- Young people, schools, and youth organizations plan their own service projects throughout the country. More than 700 of these projects will receive grants to support their projects this year, thanks to support from 15 of our Corporate and National Partners.
- 4-H Youth Development programs based in Virginia counties and cities across the Commonwealth will be organizing local N&GYSD events. Contact your local office for more information.
