History
The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center began its fine tradition of youth-oriented camping programs for boys and girls in 1978. Located on 229 acres at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Appalachain Trail and Shenandoah National Park, this American Camp Association Accredited Camp offers campers a safe environment to pursue a variety of recreational and educational opportunities that they otherwise may not have the opportunity to experience. Under the guidance of caring, trained, professional staff, youth between the ages of 5-19 years will laugh, grow and learn through a variety of wonderful activities. From Canoeing to Archery to Horsemanship, 4-H Junior Camps provide hands-on learning in a socially-positive environment. Special Interest Camps, including Cloverbud for ages 5-8, offer unique and sometimes adventurous programs that appeal to both the parents and their child's spirit and adventure.

4-H Special Interest and Wilderness Adventure Camps
4-H Special Interest Camps run concurrently to the Junior Camps during the summer and throughout the year during weekends, and are coordinated and implemented through partnerships with the 4-H Center and the Extension Agents. These programs are designed to provide younger 4-Her's with their first week-long camping experience, teen leadership development opportunities, and older youth with adventure programs that feature wilderness camping and sport.
